So, it has been a little while since we've checked in. Our resident blogger (i.e. "daddy") had to go back to work, so I thought I would try my hand at posting in between the little guy's call to eat. Seriously, I might be imagining things, but I think he is gaining weight over night. :)
Things have been going pretty well. Matt and I were discussing last night how amazingly challenging, yet amazingly wonderful parenthood is. In just three weeks, I've learned a lot about my husband, my new son...and a lot about myself. Though some days I feel like I can barely find time to brush my teeth, I'm amazed at how adept I am becoming at multi-tasking, and completing tasks with one hand. Today, I typed three emails, made a hotel reservation for Jon and Betsy's wedding in May, and created an excel spreadsheet to chart Jensen's schedule with one hand. :) Quite the accomplishment!
Even though it felt good to get some things accomplished today, it pales in comparison to the joy that I feel when I stare at this little sweetheart that God has blessed us with. I'm fascinated by the new noises that he makes, the fact that no matter what I do I feel he constantly has a milk mustache, and the fact that sometimes he really seems to "listen" when we talk to him. Each time we change his diaper (which really seems like a lot!!!) we tell him which Sesame Street character is on his diaper----not that he understands, but it has become a little tradition. It's the small stuff that seems like really big stuff these days. And, if his first word is Elmo, that will be ok, too.
We'll try to post more often. He still isn't able to have tons of visitors yet, but once we get through cold and flu season, we're looking forward to introducing him to more friends and family. Until then, thanks for your continued prayers and support that he will grow stronger and healthier each day. M&M&J
I was happy to see a new Jensen report today when I checked your blog. Sounds like you are keeping busy and enjoying every moment at the same time. Thanks for sharing all the new details with us, it brings back a lot of memories for me of what it was like those first days home alone with Owen. We look forward to meeting Jensen, until then give him a hug from us. I am working on a special project that will be ready sometime this spring. There is only so much I can get accomplished in a two hour time period when Owen is napping, so it is moving along slower than I imagined. All the best to you guys!

Wow, Jensen has changed so much already! He's very cute. I can't wait to meet him and see you guys! Emma is chomping at the bit too...every time I show her pictures she asks when we can meet him. I'm glad you are all adjusting to parenting life. It's amazing, isn't it? Emma turned 4 on Tuesday and it's hard to believe it's been that long! She continues to amaze me every day, as Jensen will to you. That's the coolest thing about parenting...you get to witness the most amazing transformations!!! Enjoy them, and take LOTS of pictures! Take care my friends...I love you all!
