Big Days

It's been a while since our last post. We have been super busy. Jensen was battling a bug for an entire week, and after a trip to the ER to avoid dehydration, we think it is finally out of his system. With all of that, and the craziness of work, we were looking forward to the weekend.

Jensen is back to being his happy guy self. Today, he attended his first 5k race, and parade for the Urbana Big Days. Here is a stylish picture of our little rock star. How cool is he? ;)

Saturday, Dad and Grandpa George ran the 5k for the Urbana Library!

It was the first 5k for George, and he won a gold medal for his age group! Way to go Grandpa!

After the race, we went to the parade. Jensen seemed to enjoy looking at all of the parade entries. We got to see some of our family members driving the fire trucks. Smile Allen!

One of the coolest parts of the parade was seeing Great Grandpa Warren ("grandpa great") as he was one of the parade marshalls--celebrating his service in WWII.

And, probably best of all, was just hanging out with family and friends after the parade for a cook-out to celebrate the day. Not everyone could make it, but it was fun for those that could.

It was a fun day--and of course, just reminded me of some of the "cool things" about growing up in a small town. Jensen won't partake in all of the traditional Big Days festivities-the fireworks, the dance in the middle of main street, the customary ear of sweetcorn, a 25 cent game of bingo, a ride or two...maybe in a few years buddy.

Here's some more pictures from the day!
